Dear Harrow Hong Kong families,
Starting in the Autumn term 2024, we will be implementing the "Lost Library Books" scheme in our school libraries. Under this scheme, families will no longer be required to pay a fine to the school for lost library books. Instead, we are offering two alternative options that we believe will not only encourage responsibility but also foster a sense of giving back to our library community.
The two options available under the "Lost Books" scheme are as follows:
Option 1: Replacing the lost book by purchasing an identical copy and donating it to the library. By replacing the lost book with a new copy, you not only help replenish our library collection but also ensure that other students can continue to enjoy the same book in the future.
Option 2: Choosing a different book from a Book Wish List provided by the library. The books on this list were either requested by other Harrow pupils or have been curated by our library team. Your contribution will directly enhance our library's resources and provide new reading opportunities for all students.
We believe that this new approach to handling lost books will promote a sense of community responsibility and shared ownership of our library resources. It also aligns with our school's values of fellowship, and will deepen our school-wide love for reading and learning.
