Code of Conduct

Each Coach Shall:

  • Abide by the content and intent of the BISAC Constitution, Handbook, Regulations and Appendices and should accept and support the rules governing the sport and those responsible for administering the rules.
  • Prepare participants with regard to the behavior expected of them at a BISAC event.
  • Cooperate with fellow coaches, tournament directors, officials and student officials in the performance of their duties.
  • Exemplify ethical behaviors, including honesty, integrity, fair play and sportsmanship.
  • Be generous in winning and graceful in losing.
  • Refrain from humiliating other teams either verbally or through results at the pool deck – winning is desirable but to win at any cost defeats the purpose of sport and is in conflict with the spirit of fellowship at BISAC events.
  • Accept responsibility for the conduct of his/her athletes and discourage inappropriate behavior in competition and while at or away from the sporting venue.
  • Understand that obscenities, trash talk or other forms of verbal abuse from a coach or player directed at coaches, officials, players or spectators are not acceptable behaviors in BISAC competition.
  • Keep his/her coaching function in proper personal and professional perspective.
