Weekend Reflections
By: Jacob Burack
The weekend's here, take a break.
Leave yesterday's effort far behind you.
The countryside's inviting with its serene sight,
Along with clean bathrooms offering a bright shine.
Definition of rest and peace is a fluid thing.
The end of the road is the rest of the distance,
The mixed flow is the rest of the water.
The rest of the poems show the craftsmanship of a writer
where each line is a thought,
A throbbing heart.
Some like to distort, to redefine the word, from "rest" to "voest,"
Playfully.
But have fun and let your cares cease.
Treasure the peace and quiet.
This weekend's gift is a precious thing,
A time of happiness, a time to sing.
Take a break, and allow tensions to fade.
Beneath nature's gentle arms, find a serene glade.
Allow car to drift like clouds in the sky above,
And fill your heart with peace and love.
The magic of the weekend is a gentle breeze,
a time to unwind, if you will.
Breathe in this calming air,
and set aside your care.
Let peace be your guide,
As anxieties slowly fade.
Savor this respite, this treasured time,
a restful repose, a sweet, sublime moment.
