Jacob Burack is a three-sport varsity athlete, dedicated student, and respected leader from Harrison High School’s Class of 2026. As Special Teams Captain for the Harrison Huskies varsity football team, Jacob handles all kicking, punting, and kickoff duties—earning recognition for his precision, poise, and reliability under pressure. On the lacrosse field, he’s a three-year varsity starting goalie, known for his sharp instincts, composure, and leadership on defense. He also contributes as the center for the varsity basketball team, demonstrating balance, teamwork, and discipline across every sport he plays.
Mature, consistent, and reflective—Jacob is a quiet leader who leads by example and inspires those around him. As an honor roll student, he pairs his athletic accomplishments with academic rigor and creativity. He has a deep passion for creative writing, particularly in the genres of poetry and screenplay writing, and enjoys exploring how rhythm, imagery, and emotion connect sports, storytelling, and the human experience.
Jacob is committed to giving back to his community. He volunteers with Backyard Sports, supporting neurodivergent youth in adaptive sports programs, and participates in Harrison Wellness Day, promoting physical and mental health awareness for elementary students within the school district. As an MYP Personal Project mentor, he guides underclassmen at Harrison High School through their own research and reflection processes to ensure the successful completion of the cornerstone project. Jacob also volunteers with the John Starks Foundation, helping raise funds and awareness for youth education and opportunity.
Jacob is an avid humane fisherman with a passion for responsible saltwater and freshwater fishing. He values time outdoors and enjoys spending it with his family, which includes his dogs, whose loyalty and energy mirror his own.
Looking ahead, Jacob hopes to continue competing at the collegiate level while pursuing his academic interests in sports journalism, media, and creative writing. With integrity, gratitude, and drive, he strives to make a meaningful impact in every arena he steps into.
