Harrison County Schools have partnered with Licking Valley Internal Medicine & Pediatrics to offer sick and wellness appointments to all students and staff.
The HILLTOP CLINIC is located at 324 Webster Avenue (CEC building, beside the high school).
The Clinic is open Monday 9am-4pm and Tuesday through Friday 9am-1pm.
The Clinic is primarily staffed by Sarah Kate McDowell, PA-C. She is a board-certified Physician Assistant - a graduate of UK PA School with over 4 years of experience dealing with a signicant amount of complex patients.
Any student is eligible to attend the clinic with parent or guardian permission. Please fill out the above forms if you'd like your child to be able to take advantage of the Clinic's services.
The Clinic is NOT government or school funded. It is supervised by Dr. Besson and Dr. Goho -both are experienced and American Board Certified Pediatricians. The clinic is staffed by LVIMPeds employees - not school personnel. The Harrison County Schools have graciously allowed us to use the space, but our practice manages the clinic.
As a result, we will need your child's insurance information. This is NOT a free, subsidized or "government" clinic. We receive no government grants or funding whatsoever. We do, however, take all insurance including Medicaid and Medicare and work with uninsured patients with a sliding scale payment option.
The advantage of our private status is that we are able to provide your child with independent, non-biased, up-to-date pediatric care, that works with you and your child, not as a government clinic. We want to support your child and your family and you are always welcome to come to Clinic visits with your child.
We will be able to do sick visits for children at the Clinic. If you give permission for your child's school nurse to make an appointment if your child is sick, then the teacher/nurse and school personnel will call and make arrangements for transportation of your child to the Clinic. You will, of course, be notified of the visit and are always welcome to meet your child at the Clinic.
We will also be able to do sports and routine physicals at the Clinic. We will also be able to do chronic maintenance visits, such as for asthma or ADHD. If your child is being seen for ADHD or other behavioral health issues, we require that a parent or guardian be present for the visit - not just a phone consultation. If your child is receiving a sports physical, either a parent or guardian with knowledge of the child's family medical history must be present OR the KHSAA history form must be COMPLETELY filled out by someone with good knowledge of the child's medical history and the guardian be available by phone during the appointment time.
For further information or questions, or to make an appointment, contact us by email at hilltopcampusclinic@lvimpeds.com or call 859-234-7178 and speak directly to the Campus Clinic staff at the CEC building.
