Week 6

(Feb. 22nd-26th)

This week we will be focusing on understanding the emergence of the Hebrew people and the kingdoms of Kush and Phoenicia.

Standards:

  • 6.C&G.1.4 Compare the role and evolution of laws and legal systems in various civilizations, societies and regions.


By the end of this week, you will be able to answer the following questions:

  1. How did ancient Israel develop as a civilization?

  2. How did historical events affect the movement of the Jewish people over time?

  3. What lasting impact has Jewish culture and history made on modern day western civilization?

  4. How did the Egyptian and Kushite kingdoms interact?

  5. How were the Phoenicians able to create such a large empire and what is their last impact on human civilization?
