Dear Parents/Guardians,
All 8th -11th grade students will be given the opportunity to take the TSI (Texas Success Initiative) on February 28th -March 2nd. The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is an assessment that will determine if the student is College Ready. They are tested in three general areas: Reading, Writing and Mathematics. Students who take and pass all three sections of the TSI will be eligible to take Dual Credit Classes. We encourage all students to take the TSI if they ARE successfully passing their Math and English classes. There will be several opportunities for the student to take the TSI if he/she doesn't pass.
Once a student has completed his/her TSI assessment, they will be given their score for each section. The passing score for each section is listed below.
- Mathematics: a minimum score of 350
- Reading: a minimum score of 351
- Writing: a score of 5 on the Essay section or a score of 4 on the Essay and a minimum score of 363 on the multiple choice section

The deadline to sign up is January 30th.
