At Rock Cut, we believe that behavior is learned—just like reading and math. We teach students how to be successful through clear expectations, positive reinforcement, and compassionate guidance. This page explains how we support behavior and create a safe, respectful, and responsible school community.
PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is our proactive approach to teaching and encouraging positive behavior.
Students are taught 3 expectations: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible—in all school settings.
Positive behaviors are recognized and celebrated through praise and class incentives.
Behavioral data helps us identify patterns and give students the right support.
Our staff uses Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) to teach skills like empathy, self-regulation, and conflict resolution.
We use restorative practices to help students repair relationships and learn from their mistakes, not just receive consequences.
✅ Reinforce the same expectations at home: talk about being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible.
✅ Praise your child when they demonstrate these behaviors.
✅ Stay connected with your child’s teacher about classroom behavior and successes.
✅ Join us in using kind language, asking reflective questions, and guiding students to solve conflicts
