Friday, February 20 (Girls vs. North Bullitt) 6:30 - 9:30
Double Header = two games (girl and boy) back to back on same night
The band will also play at Tournament games which is determined by the basketball teams’ success this season.
District Tournaments are scheduled to start the week of February 23
Guidelines for Pep Band Participation:
1) ATTENDANCE:
Students must attend all games and rehearsals
Students may not leave a game early.
Students must stay until the game is finished.
Students involved in Winter Guard may attend Guard Practice and not be disqualified from Pep Band, but must come to the game if guard practice ends before the game
Students performing with other ensembles may be dismissed but ONLY with prior approval from the band director
2) Students must wear the approved CHHS PEP BAND SHIRT
3) Students must sit in the Pep Band Performance area and in their section during the ballgames
4) Students must use appropriate language and exhibit appropriate behavior (i.e. no PDA or rude gestures) at all times including any breaks
5) Students may not leave games early
6) Students will be given 3rd quarter “off” for regular season home games and may get food and drink at the concessions during that time. However, NO FOOD or SODA may be brought back into the Pep Band Performance Area. Water is fine to have in the performance area
7) Students must be back in place ready to play BEFORE the start of the 4th quarter
8) Students may not leave a game early for an activity that is occurring the next day
10) Students must stay with the pep band for the entire game
Failure to follow these rules can result in dismissal from the pep band
Batterie Percussion will include:
Snare Drum, Tenor Drums, Bass Drums, Cymbals
Shall use a stadium stand and have the covers on the drums
1 Drum Set player – this person will need to be available for all home games and all tournament games.
Some of the music will have a drumline part. The drum set player will need to extrapolate the drum set part from the batterie percussion music and by listening to the original songs to learn the grooves
1 Alternate/ “In-Training” Drum Set Player – this person will be responsible for learning all pep band songs and will be a “stand-by” player in case the Drum Set Player is ill. They will also be training to take over for a future year of pep band IF THEY EXHIBIT STRONG AND CONSISTENT PLAYING AND ATTENDANCE
Auxiliary Percussion - tambourine, shaker, cowbell, agogo bells, etc…
Some of the music will have aux percussion parts to read.
Some songs will not have aux percussion
Students will use the other percussion parts to create an aux
percussion part in these cases
