Monica Sian Jones

Hailing from Colorao Springs, Colorado,USA Monica has an academic background in Music, Sociology and Anthropology, International Korean Studies and a professional background in higher education administration and teaching.  Monica serves as a Visiting Professor at Woosong University, developing and teaching courses in Introduction to Korean Popular Culture, Understanding K-Pop, and Storytelling in K-Pop, as well as developing online learning programs. She likes to combine her experiences through Cultural Studies research, particularly in comparing concepts of Han and the Blues, and its relationship between the inheritance of African-American musical characteristics in South Korean popular music.
