“LIVES x Tech Ideathon" Participation Agreement

This participation agreement (hereinafter referred to as "this Agreement") sets forth the matters that must be complied with when applying for and participating in the "LIVES x Tech Ideathon" (hereinafter referred to as the "Event") hosted by Hands On Tokyo (hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer"). By applying for the Event, you will be deemed to have agreed to this Agreement.

Event Name: "LIVES x Tech Ideathon 2023"

Date and Time: Sunday, July 9th, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Location: Cybozu, Inc. Tokyo Office

1. [Purpose] This event aims to bring together participants with diverse perspectives, knowledge, expertise, and experience to generate ideas for creating necessary assistive robots with people with disabilities.

2. [Use of Ideas] Participants agree that any ideas, concepts, know-how, or other intellectual property they contribute during the event are considered public domain and can be used freely by anyone without charge or restriction.

3. [Use of Filming Materials] Participants agree that the organizer may take photos or videos during the event and use them on the organizer's website, social media, or other promotional materials.

4. [Respect for Rights of Others] Participants shall comply with laws and shall not infringe any intellectual property rights or other rights of third parties in connection with this event.

5. [Respectful Communication] Participants must respect one another and avoid saying things that could harm another participant's reputation or credibility, such as discriminatory, slanderous, or defamatory remarks. The organizer is not responsible for any harm caused by a participant's behavior toward others.

6. [Compliance with Instructions] To ensure the smooth operation of this event, participants must comply with any instructions given by the organizer during the event.

7. [Responsibility] If a participant violates any of the provisions outlined above and causes damage to the organizer or a third party, the participant shall be responsible for and bear the burden of resolving the issue.

8. [Handling of Personal Information] The personal information provided for this event will be used solely for the event. The organizer may also send event information and newsletters related to Hands On Tokyo and its LIVES project to the contact information provided for the event. If you do not wish to receive such information, please contact livesproject@handsontokyo.org.

9. [Interpretation of Terms and Conditions] In the event of any doubts or uncertainties regarding the interpretation of these terms and conditions, the organizer and the participants shall discuss the matter in good faith and resolve it together.

10. [Jurisdiction] Any disputes arising from this event between the organizer and a participant shall be exclusively under the jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the first instance of an exclusive agreement.
