Spanish II builds upon knowledge gained in Spanish I and reinforces the skills learned in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Emphasis in Spanish II is on perfecting pronunciation, mastery of the basic grammatical structures, the use of past, future, conditional tenses, increased communicative proficiency, and the culture/history of Hispanic South America. Acquisition of functional vocabulary is expected. The main objective of this course is that students will increase in their ability and confidence to function in real-life situations (both spoken and written) using more complex sentences and grammatical structures.
