Parts of a Story
We have been learning a lot about stories and reading and have learned a lot of new vocabulary words. You could help reinforce our learning by using these words at home when reading stories.
Author: Wrote the words
Illustrator: Made the pictures
Photographer: Took the pictures with a camera
Characters: The people/animals/things that do or say something in the story
Main Character: The person/animal/thing that is central to the story, the one the reader follows throughout the pages of the story.
Setting: Where did the story take place?
Text: words, books, magazines, etc.
Main Idea: What is this text/story mostly about?
