We use this Alphabet Chart to learn the letters in the alphabet and the sounds that they make. You can print a copy by clicking on this link, Alphabet Chart.

Once students learn all the letters and sounds they make, we begin to segment and blend the sounds together to read and spell words.

"Try 5" is a chance for each student to show how much he/she knows about the letters and sounds that we are working on in class. If you notice your child is having difficulty with this, you may need to do a little practice at home prior to the assessment on Fridays to ensure success. Try using this worksheet to practice.
