Ahmed Badr was born in Iraq where his home was bombed when he was a child. He was then forced to move to Syria where he spent two years before moving to America. In America he started posting his stories on a blog that he made during his sophomore year of high school. All of a sudden, he felt that people started to care about his story, and that his blog was starting to change the opinions of people relating to refugees. Now Ahmed is a sophomore in college and his blog has become a website named “Narratio”. It has writers from 17 different countries and publishes stories to empower refugees, and the other goal of his website is to help the young people to steak out their story. Though the website started out as his own blog, he now barely ever publishes his own work, and focuses on other writers and people. His explanation for this being that it was, “‘ only helping my own expression. So how about I take that feeling and that space that I created for myself and turn it into something that allows youth, refugee or otherwise, all over the world to do the same exact thing.'" Ahmed has also written many speeches, and he has done presentations in many places, such as the United Nations.
