Parents and Students,

AP testing will begin Monday May 3rd and go through Friday May 14th. Testing will take place at Riverbend Church with the exception of AP Biology and AP Environmental Science on May 14th.

We are excited to have this space donated so that our students can have a good testing experience and allow us to minimally disrupt the school day for those not involved in testing.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our AP Coordinator Chris Haynes at chris.haynes@hallco.org

2021 Star Student and teacher

The PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program is proud to announce the 2021 Local STAR Students and STAR Teachers. The STAR program, now in its 63rd year, is sponsored, administered, and promoted by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and the PAGE Foundation. Since its creation, the STAR program has honored nearly 28,000 students and the teachers they have selected as having had the most influence on their academic achievement.

To obtain the 2021 STAR nomination, graduating high school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date on the SAT and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average.

The STAR Teacher is selected by the declared high school STAR Student for having made the most significant contribution to the STAR Student’s scholastic development.

The students and their teachers are honored by their schools and receive special recognition in their communities. Students then compete for school system titles, and those winners compete for region honors. Region winners compete for the honor of being named State PAGE STAR Student. STAR Teachers continue on with their STAR Students at every level of the program.

The 2021 STAR Student for North Hall High School is Anna Catherine Brewer. Anna Catherine selected Mr. Christopher Haynes as the NHHS 2021 STAR Teacher.

Congratulations!

11th Grade Immunization Requirements

Parents,

If your child is entering the 11th grade next school year, he or she is required by Georgia law to provide proof of a meningococcal booster shot (MCV4), unless the student’s first dose was received on or after their 16th birthday. Please see the statement below from the Department of Public Health:

Before starting the 2021-2022 school year, all students entering or transferring into 11th grade will need proof of a meningococcal booster shot (MCV4), unless their first dose was received on or after their 16th birthday. Meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial illness that affects the brain and the spinal cord. Meningitis can cause shock, coma and death within hours of the first symptoms. To help protect your children and others from meningitis, Georgia law requires students be vaccinated against this disease, unless the child has an exemption.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the meningococcal booster shot, please consult with your healthcare provider or school nurse, Jennifer Smallwood.
