First Day of School is August 24th.
Parents may choose either in-person or virtual instruction for their child. Commitment to either virtual or in-person instruction will be through the end of the semester . Students will remain in their chosen model until December 18, 2020, when parents may change their decision. The Hall County School District is giving families until August 31, the final day of the first full week of school, to make their decision for first semester.
Teachers , staff & bus drivers will implement social distancing in the classroom, bus, and other areas to the greatest extent possible.
All Hall County Employees, when working with team members or students, will be required to wear a mask and/or face covering.
All students are required to have a face covering. When practical, and per CDC guidelines, students will be required to wear their face covering when not socially distanced from others.
In order to minimize the spread of the virus, water fountains will be turned off and water dispensers will be available. Students should bring a water bottle to school everyday.
More than ever this year, it is important to keep your child at home if they have a fever, are feeling ill, or are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19. If a student or family member tests positive for COVID-19, contact the school nurse at ewa.more@hallco.org immediately to discuss next steps to ensure the safety of all students and to support your child’s learning.
Students will alternate between eating lunch inside and eating lunch outside.
When preparing lunch for your child at home, please choose items that can be opened by children independently. This will reduce the spread of germs and ensure teachers have time to enjoy their lunch, as well.
We would like to encourage parents to us MyPaymentPlus this year. There will be no additional charge for using this online payment tool. Cash will NOT be accepted so this is the best breakfast and lunch payment option for our families.
Teachers will maximize space within their classroom configuration to promote distancing to the greatest extent possible.
Students will have multiple opportunities for hand washing/sanitizing throughout the school day.
Students will need to bring their own water bottle and hand sanitizer.
Students should bring their personal school supply materials from home.
Parents please attach a card to your child's backpack with full name, address, phone number, grade level, and teacher name to help guide students to his/her classroom. This will also help with car riders and bus identification.
We love having parents visit and volunteer with our school!
At this time, elementary schools will not have classroom volunteers or lunch visitors. We hope to be able to welcome visitors and volunteers into our school in the future.
For the safety of students, staff, and families, elementary schools will not allow parents/guardians to walk students to classrooms. We will have staff members available to ensure students get to their classroom safely.
We will have a rotation schedule which will allow students to have recess everyday.
Students will be expected to wash/sanitize their hands before and after recess.
Activities that reduce physical contact will be encouraged.
Homeroom classes will not be in the same areas as other classes during recess this year. We will limit the students playing in each area.
During Phase 1, playground equipment will be closed, but we will utilize the field and other outdoor areas.
We know that Specials classes are vital for a child’s well being and they will continue on a daily basis.
There will be a break between Specials to allow Specials teachers to prepare/sanitize for the next group.
After school care will begin on the first day of school and is offered through the YMCA.
All other after school activities, including clubs/teams, will not be offered in person for at least the first nine weeks.
All students and staff will have their temperatures checked prior to entering the building each morning.
During morning drop-off for car-riders, there will be no parking, or walking your child to the front door. Please plan accordingly, and arrive early enough to go through the car-rider line. Due to keeping social distances and spacing out students entering the building to go through the temperature check stations, there will be no exceptions. Car riders will pick up breakfast in the cafeteria.
If students are late, parents will use the outdoor camera/ call button. Your child will be walked in by a staff member after notifying our front office using our new intercom system.
Bus Riders will be dropped off at the front of the school. They will pick up their breakfast in the cafeteria and head to class. This way, it will limit the number of students crossing in the hallways. Kindergarten and 1st grade will have their breakfast delivered to the classroom.
Students will dismiss from the classroom-One bus at a time.
Specials teachers and Paras will help get the students on each bus.
Students will dismiss to the gym and be socially distanced while waiting to be picked up.
Ninth District Pre-K will dismiss through the door beside their classroom.
Please try not to check out your child early, if possible. If your child has an appointment and must be checked out early, parents will use the outdoor camera/ call button. Parents or anyone checking out a student, will still need their state-issued photo ID to do so.
