Dear Myers families,
On behalf of the faculty at Myers Elementary, we are happy to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year! As the new principal, I am honored to serve the families and staff at Myers. Although this school year is starting out very different, I would like to affirm the commitment to put families first. As your principal, we will always consider our students, parents and staff first. Along with Mrs. Erin Crandall assistant principal, we look forward to working in partnership with you as we continue to provide our students with a rich and relevant cultural and academic experiences to become life long learners.
In preparation for the re opening of our school building we have been cleaning and sanitizing all over our building: restrooms, hallways, touch points, equipment, and classrooms.
Research shows that wearing a mask can help prevent the spread of COVID19. The Hall County School District is strongly encouraging students to wear masks in an effort to protect the health of staff and classmates. In preparation for the start of the new school year, we recommend students acquire a couple of masks that allow them to be comfortable throughout the school day.
What we do know at this time is that we can encourage parents to provide students with:
Face coverings ( mask or face shield)
Refillable water bottle
Hand sanitizer
Things are constantly changing, so there may be some slight changes to our plans as we move forward, but we are trying to make the best decisions to keep our students and staff safe while also creating a great learning experience for your child. Thank you for your partnership and patience as we all work through this together!
Marla Lear
Principal
