New Staff members

Beginning this week, there are some important changes coming to Oakwood Elementary.

To better support our students, Oakwood will be adding a new Kindergarten Class.

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Yasmin Martinez (teacher) and Mrs. Roxanne Garcia (paraprofessional).

To assist with reducing our teacher to student ratio in our upper grades:

Mrs. Good will be transitioning from 3rd Grade to Academic Support Teacher.
Mrs. Good will spend 1/2 of the school day teaching 3rd Grade and the other 1/2 of the day teaching 5th Grade.
Additional information will be sent home to specific students who are directly impacted by these changes.

Hall County Schools announce name recommendation for new elementary schoolHall County Schools Superintendent Will Schofield is set to recommend a name for the district’s newest elementary school to the Board of Education on August 12.

McEver Academy, Oakwood Elementary kick off final school year ahead of mergerHall County Schools are officially back in session, but two schools in the district are welcoming students back for the last time.

Car Rider Line

Maximize Efficiency During:

Morning Arrival:

Have your child prepared to exit the vehicle (unbuckled, ready to grab all items, put down devices)
When vehicle is within unloading zone, students can open own car doors and exit vechile without waiting on staff member to open their door.
Be sure vehicle pulls up to next the next available location (don't forget spot #1 which is at the main entrance doors)

Afternoon Dismissal:

Be sure staff can see your car rider number throughout the entire process.
- A great way is to utilize a pants hanger to display your car rider number

If you do not have your car rider number, please present your photo ID and park in an available parking spot.

Reminders:

To assist with safety and establishing routines:

To allow time for routines to be established in the lunchroom, no parent visitors will be allowed to eat in the lunchroom until after Labor Day.
