Agenda:

1. Students will learn about the HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarships and check that their graduation plan meets the HOPE Rigor Requirements.
2. Give students their graduation plans, review what the HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarships are, and have them check to see that their grad plan meets the Rigor Requirements listed on the slide.

*Teachers, please collect all student grad plans at the end of Advisement. They need these for next week!*

Review the last two slides so students know what they can expect to learn in their upcoming PSAT classroom lesson and how to contact me if they have PSAT-related questions.

1. To kick off the second semester, January's advisement lessons will focus on characteristics students need to create long-lasting change: Perspective & GRIT. Each lesson contains a video, reflection questions and activity.

1. Remind students to talk with their teachers to find out if Winter School is an option for them; deadline to register is this Thursday, Dec. 19^th.
2. Encourage students to use Winter break to earn a few Community Service hours and how to log them in Infinite Campus.
3. Go through the Youth Leadership Hall presentation to make students aware of their leadership opportunities.

1. We’ve heard from some of you that your discussions last week were cut short and you’d like to finish those; go for it! The presentation can be found on the Archived Lessons page (the button to go to that page is down below). If you did finish and are ready to start a new lesson, we’ve provided that here. This week’s video is 8:00 minutes long but worth it!
2. It’s the season of Giving Thanks! This week’s video lesson, Gratitude, focuses on recognizing those in our lives who have supported us and made a positive impact on our lives and the power of saying Thank You. After you’ve showed the video, go over the reflection questions as a class, and challenge your students to complete the Gratitude Challenge!
3. Please remember to download the PowerPoint to your computer. It will not work otherwise.

1. Go through the presentation below (you will have to download it to your computer due to the video). Student’s will watch Mike Smith’s video and reflect on 1^st Nine Weeks of school. They will discuss if their effort, attitude, attendance, Test Grades, etc. reflect a person striving to reach their goals or a person who makes too many excuses.

• Folders containing copies of advisement rosters with addresses, State ID, Student Answer sheets + Answer Sheet Instructions, Pre-ID Labels and Coordinator Manuel
  • It is recommended to cut the roster into strips and then give to individual students.
• Handout from Wednesday's Meeting
• #2 Pencils - we will provide these

Before the Test: Pre-Admin Session, October 1st Advisement (p.55)

1. Pick up materials in Counseling Conference room before Advisement.

2. On your board, write School (AI) Code #111371 and School Address.

*Remind students to bring their own pencil and calculator that day*

3. Give students #2 pencil and answer sheet with Pre-ID Label.

4. Pg. 56 Follow instructions for Pre-Admin Session and read text in the shaded areas.

5. For students without a Pre-ID Label, have them fill in all of the information with #2 pencil.

6. Pg. 58 Script for Pre-ID Label

Ask each student to check their label to ensure they’re correct:

• Is the school (AI) code correct? 111371
• Is the grade level correct?
• Is the DOB correct?

*Please review how to resolve Pre-ID label Issues on p. 59 before advisement.*

7. Ask students to fill out their answer sheet completely - better to have more information than not enough. Collect all materials, make sure that students completed fields 1-8 and 14.

Agenda:

1. Today's goal is to help prepare students for the PSAT. The presentation gives brief overview of PSAT, a video with Before Test Day tips, and highlights what's in the Student Guide and how to use it.
2. Give students the opportunity to vote in the 2nd round of voting for Homecoming Court using the link and QR Code in the second presentation.

Agenda:

1. Please check with your students to see if anyone still has their signed agenda pages. If they do, collect them and return them to the media center.
2. Review High School Transcript and begin their high school grad plan
3. Give students their High School transcript along with the transcript checklist.
4. View the presentation below with your students.
5. Have students check the courses they've already taken on the checklist.
6. Students need to turn both back in to their advisement teacher to keep in their advisement folders. We will use these again.

2. Please collect any additional signed agenda pages from your advisement students. Return your folder and signed pages to the library today if you have not done so already.
3. Display and work through the following presentation with your students. Collect the completed goal sheets before the period ends and return them to the library in a stack labeled with the Advisement teacher's name and grade level by the end of the day.
