Health Education Teacher
Head Coach, Boys Soccer – Chestatee Academy
Zach Gaudreau — known by his players as “Coach G” — was raised in a small town in Southwest Florida near the Myakka River. A graduate of Venice High School (Class of 2005), he captained the wrestling team and helped lead them to a school-record 2nd place finish at the state championships, earning an individual 3rd place finish along the way.
In 2008, Coach G joined the United States Army, serving as an M1 Abrams Armor Crewman — a “Tanker.” He graduated with the prestigious Excellence in Armor award and was stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia. In 2009, he deployed to Iraq for 12 months, completing over 300 combat missions. He was honorably discharged in 2012, receiving multiple commendations including a Meritorious Unit Citation, the Master Tank Driver badge, Expert Marksmanship on multiple weapon systems, and the Army Commendation Medal.
After his service, Coach G began college in 2015 at the age of 28. Driven by purpose and discipline, he earned straight A’s throughout college (with just one B), graduating with highest honors from the University of South Florida’s College of Education. During his time at USF, he served as lead author on a published scholarly article and was named a national Major of the Year by SHAPE America.
Following graduation in 2019, he moved to Washington, DC to be with his future wife, teaching Physical Education in the district. After getting married, he and his wife welcomed their daughter, Signy, and decided to move closer to family and community support. In 2022, the Gaudreau family settled in Lula, Georgia after Coach G accepted a position at Chestatee Academy.
He now teaches Health and coaches soccer, previously leading the girls team and now stepping into the role of Head Coach for the Boys Soccer Program.
Coach G’s lifelong drive to achieve — as a soldier, student, and teacher — is grounded in discipline, humility, and service to others. His degrees in physical education reflect a commitment to skill-based learning and high expectations. As a father, he coaches every child with the same intention and integrity he would want for his own daughter. For him, coaching is more than developing players — it’s about shaping young men into accountable, respectful teammates who understand what it means to represent something bigger than themselves.
Coach G lives in Lula with his wife, daughter Signy, and their two dogs, Runa and Neeko. He spends his free time exploring the outdoors with his family, continuing to learn, and building a soccer program rooted in purpose, pride, and progress.
