People are much more productive if they work in smaller blocks of time than if they stop for a short break. Help your child break his or her homework and studying sessions into 15-20 minute blocks. After that, it's time for a "brain break." Give your child a five minute break to stand up and stretch, walk around the house, or grab a snack. Set a timer on your phone or computer for each block as a reminder to help your child stay focused on the task at hand, or better yet, remind them to do it, so they can take on more responsibility for their learning.
