Why Venice (or Murano) for the picture? Activity
Read the following two articles about pollution in Venice from Save the Water and The Guardian Newspaper. Discuss the impact humans can have on the environment and make a list of all of the different types of pollution you are aware of.
Types of Pollution Activity
Define the following three terms:
Construct a table to explain and give examples (use the list you created in the first activity) of the following types of pollution:
For three of your examples create an input, process, output flow chart (A systems diagram). Here is an example:
Input: Carbon dioxide from the combustion of fossil fuels --> Process: Increased atmospheric carbon dioxide --> Output: Increase in the greenhouse effect contributing to global warming and climate change
Please submit your types of pollution activity to google classroom here.
Pollution Management Activity
Contribute to the google doc below to evaluate the three levels of pollution management.
The role of the UN in controlling pollution Extension Activity
Every year the UN get together for a climate change conference look at the four sources below and evaluate the role of the UN in pollution management. Be prepared to feedback your evaluation:
DDT and Malaria Case Study
Develop a case study on DDT and Malaria, use Kognity and the Oxford textbook to support you.
Remember your case studies must provide the following:
At the end of the case study answer the following question:
Explain whether or not DDT should be banned.
Please submit your case study to google classroom here.
Revision Activity
Today we are going to build our own revision google expedition. We will go out as a team and identify examples of different types of pollution and take a 360° photo (You could use one photo to represent more than one type of pollution for example it could be acute and organic). Then we will make two questions around the pollution for each question we will create the answers. We will do this on the collaborative google doc
