I SPY the Letter Ll in my Home/ Letter Ll Hunt

Think about the Letter “Ll.”  What sound does it make?  Can you make the letter Ll using the thumb and pointer finger of your left hand?  Can you trace the letter Ll with your finger in the air?  Can you draw the upper and lowercase letter Ll using your favorite color crayon?

What words do you know that begin with the letter Ll?  

Directions:

Go on a letter “Ll” hunt around your home or outside in your backyard.  Collect as many items as you can that begin with the letter Ll.

-How many letter Ll items did you find?

-Draw a picture of at least 3 of the letter Ll items that you find.  Try to write the words underneath.

-Can you think of any more letter Ll  items or words that may not be found in your home?

Create Your Own Lemonade in a Bag 

Materials:  lemon, water, measuring cup, measuring spoon, ziplock bag (or simply a cup), sugar (natural/brown), ice cubes (optional), ziplock bag, straw.

First, gather all materials listed above. Take a look at the Lemonade in a Bag visual recipe shown below.  There are 8 steps.  Encourage your child to tell you (read) the directions in sequential order.  Assist them as needed.  

Follow the steps and make your own!

You can add your own personal twist or variation by adding or replacing ingredients based on your child’s preference OR on ingredients available in your home.  For example, you can add limes or strawberries to the original recipe to make strawberry-lemonade or lemon-lime lemonade!

*Challenge - Have your child make a list or DRAW pictures of the materials needed, including the word if they’re ready.  Have them post it on your refrigerator in case they’d like a reminder to make it again another day. :)*

Cree Su Propia Limonada en una Bolsa

Materiales: limón, agua, taza medidora, cuchara medidora, bolsa Ziplock (o simplemente una taza), azúcar (blanca/morena), cubitos de hielo (opcional), bolsa Ziplock, paja.

Primero, reúna todos los ingredientes enumerados anteriormente. 

Mire la receta visual “Lemonade in a Bag” que se muestra a la derecha. Hay 8 pasos. Anime a su hija/o a que le diga (lea) las instrucciones en orden secuencial (ayude según sea necesario).

¡Sigue los pasos y haz su propio.!

Puede agregar su propio giro o variación personal agregando o reemplazando ingredientes según la preferencia de su hijo o en los ingredientes disponibles en su hogar. Por ejemplo, puede agregar limas o fresas a la receta original para hacer limonada de fresa o de limón.
