Highlighting Lancaster/Lebanon Facilities Team Summer Work
Did you know that when there are less faculty, staff and students on campus, YOUR facilities teams go to work on those projects that they cannot complete while classes are in session or during the winter months?
This past summer, the Lancaster/Lebanon facilities team completed or coordinated many projects. Some of those are:
Assisted East Lampeter Township Sewer Authority who started and funded the stream bank project which runs through the Lancaster Campus. Once completed, this project will help limit the amount of sediment and improve water quality for the Chesapeake Bay.
Fire hydrants on the Lancaster Campus were painted to match the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommended colors for water pressure. This visual gives the fire departments an idea of what water pressure they will have at each hydrant.
Window cleaning was completed in the entrance and cafeteria atrium at the Main Building and the main entrance and windows to the left at the East Building.
Several HVAC projects were also completed, including duct cleaning on the third floor of the Main Building.
Several areas on both the Lancaster and Lebanon Campuses have been painted.
The custodial teams on both campuses have been continuing their excellent work keeping us all safe. They have also stripped and waxed many floors in the classrooms and hallways.
The team also supports our tenants on both campuses which include IU13 in Lebanon, and Goodwill and UGro in Lancaster. Recently, two members of the team supported the annual Goodwill retreat on the Lancaster Campus.
We have also been busy getting quotes from contractors for future door installation, concrete repair and pressure washing.
