Title IX
Gender or Sex Discrimination and Misconduct (Title IX)
Title IX is a federal civil rights law offering protections from and rights regarding sex or gender based discrimination that applies to schools like HACC. HACC is committed to cultivating and maintaining a safe and nondiscriminatory educational and employment environment for all members of the College community. Accordingly, HACC will be vigilant in providing a College environment that is free of any form of discrimination on the basis of sex, which includes sexual harassment, sexual violence, sexual assault and dating or domestic violence. This commitment, which includes prohibition of all forms of gender-based harassment (sexual and non-sexual), is implemented regardless of gender, gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation.
Key information for students:
HACC’s Title IX team is here to respond to and support students who experience sexual harassment or other sex/gender discrimination at HACC. We also support students who:
Experience domestic or dating violence or other sexual misconduct if it happens outside of HACC
Experience harassment or mistreatment due to being LGBTQ+
Are pregnant, parenting, or have a related condition impacting your education
Please reach out to us to make a report if you believe you have experienced or witnessed any sexual misconduct or other sex/gender-based discrimination, or if you need support or have questions.
Check out our Title IX website (www.hacc.edu/titleix) for more information and resources, including lactation spaces and gender-neutral restrooms on each campus.
