Heart 2 Heart is small and entirely volunteer-run, so we focus on what we can sustain. Here is what we do today, what we've done along the way, and how it adds up year by year!
Community Cat TNVR: We trap, neuter, vaccinate, and return community cats, so colonies stop growing and the cats stay healthy. We're licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture to handle cats, and our transport van lets us move more cats to the clinic each week. The only thing limiting us is funding and trappers!
Low-Cost Spay/Neuter for Pets: We help residents get their pets fixed at a reduced rate through our clinic partner, and we take advantage of free spay days when the clinic offers them.
Rescue and Foster Partnerships: We've led large rescue operations and helped with others, working with trapping mentors, sanctuaries, and partner rescues. We only take in animals ourselves when we have funds and a foster.
Community Resources: Every day we get calls about strays and abandoned animals. We share posts, make referrals, and point people to help (see Need Help).
Pet food bank: Distributed thousands of pounds of donated pet food to local families in need. We still do so, but only as donations permit and not on a timed basis.
Thrift store: Raised funds and passed clothing and household items on to other nonprofits from October 2025 til June 2026.
Kitten room adoption center: Cared for and adopted out cats while we had the volunteers and the thrift store space. We rely soley on fosters now!
