STEM Club is a student-run club focusing on building curiosity and interest in STEM-related topics. The club explores different topics from science, technology, engineering and maths whilst involving students in practical learning, projects and knowledge-building activities.
We aim to create an engaging platform where students are able to develop and express their love for STEM. Joining the STEM Club at our school offers the opportunity to explore your interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while developing essential skills such as problem-solving and teamwork. It provides access to valuable knowledge, networking opportunities, and the chance to make a positive impact within our school. By joining STEM Club, you can prepare for future academic and career pursuits, have fun, and meet like-minded individuals who share your passion for STEM.
If you are passionate and curious about any aspect of STEM or want to build a career in this field then joining this club will be perfect for you. We focus on building your interest in this sector and exploring ways to make STEM more engaging for all students!
These sessions are led by senior students, with experience and passion for their respective fields of STEM. This allows both the people attending and the leaders to collaborate whilst enjoying STEM discoveries together. We hope to encourage more students to explore the fascinating and exciting topics in the fields that they are interested in and gain insight into the world of STEM.
2022 was STEM Club’s inaugural year at Glenny, and we have already explored the worlds of
Rocketry, Genetics, HTML and Atomic models. We engaged in a mix of practical and theory-based activities, including some chemistry-focused practicals in order to test and debunk a number of theories. In other meetings, we also explored how different aspects of STEM can potentially work together to solve global problems like climate change.
We plan to investigate 3D Printing, Theoretical Maths, Biology and Scientific Innovation in the near future, along with other interactive projects that interest students of STEM!
Our Middle School 'STEM Club' meeting times and locations will be confirmed soon.... Watch this space!
