Mrs. Mitchell's Expectations and Procedures: Northside Middle School
Overall rule is that BAD Decisions will have CONSEQUENCES!
Classroom:
Be on time for class and do not enter unless a teacher is at the door or in the room.
Be prepared for class with ALL necessary materials. A materials list is posted on my website. MATH CAN NOT BE DONE WITHOUT PAPER AND PENCIL!
Sharpen pencils upon entering the class. If your point breaks during class, you should have another sharpened one available.
Mechanical (lead) pencils may be used, but students may not load lead in class.
Write ONLY with PENCILS unless told otherwise by a teacher.
Raise your hand for permission to speak or get out of your seat.
Trash should be thrown away at the end of class.
Keep all hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
NO FOOD or DRINKS are allowed in class including GUM or CANDY unless provided by the classroom teacher.
Follow directions and do your best.
Halls:
Walk on the right side of the hall in a line facing the front.
Hallways should be quiet at all times.
Restroom:
Restroom expectations will be described at the beginning of the school year, and students should meet restroom expectations as described by school policies.
Cafeteria:
Decide before entering the cafeteria what you want for lunch and go directly to that line; do not change lines.
Get everything you need when you go through the line. You will not be allowed to go back.
Sit at your assigned table, eat quietly the first 10 minutes, and talk quietly only to students sitting close to you (at the same table).
Throw all trash/food away in an orderly manner when your teacher dismisses you. (Make sure you leave your area clean.)
Food and drinks MAY NOT be taken out of the cafeteria.
Other:
IDs should be worn at all times. If you do not have yours, you must purchase a temporary ID before coming to 1st period.
“Teacher Zones” are off-limits for students.
Dress code will be enforced. Refer to the Students Rights and Responsibilities booklet.
