NOTE: To qualify for these courses, you must live in the Goodwill Big-Bend region, must be legal to work in the US, and must have a high school diploma or GED. All courses are online, but they also require occasional onsite visits at one of our Career Centers.

How Do I Access The Courses?

The courses listed below are only for residents in our region. Goodwill Big-Bend serves counties in North Florida and South Georgia. If you live in one of the counties listed below, then you can enroll in online courses and local classes at one of our Career Centers at no cost: 

Florida: Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Gadsden, Liberty, Franklin, Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, Hamilton, Suwanee, Lafayette

Georgia: Seminole, Decatur, Grady, Thomas

IBM Information Technology (IT) Fundamentals for Everyone

NOTE: You must be legal to work in the US and have a high school diploma or GED to qualify.

Six-Module Online Course- The Information Technology (IT) Fundamentals for Everyone Certificate, funded by IBM and administered by Coursera, will guide you through fundamental concepts and skills to confidently navigate various aspects of IT and the digital world. You will be introduced to the vast field of IT, covering a wide range of topics to build your IT knowledge. This course is a required prereq for many of the courses listed below and is taught as a two-week class.

Google IT Support Professional Certificate

Five-Module Online Course- The Google IT Support Professional Certificate, funded by Google and administered by Coursera, includes innovative curriculum designed to prepare you for an entry-level role in IT support. A job in IT can mean in-person or remote help desk work in a small business or at a global company like Google. The program is part of Grow with Google, a Google initiative to help create economic opportunity for all. 

Through a mix of video lectures, quizzes, and hands-on labs and widgets, this program will introduce you to troubleshooting, customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration and security. You’ll hear from Googlers with unique backgrounds whose own foundation in IT support served as a jumping off point for their careers. By dedicating 5-10 hours a week, you can complete the program in 4-6 months.

Individuals who complete the course are given access to an exclusive national  employer consortium where recruiters search through graduates to hire for open positions. The jobs available for this particular skill set include systems analyst, support specialist, database administrator, IT technician, computer specialist, and many more. 

You can also earn a CompTIA and Google dual credential when you complete the Google certificate and pass the CompTIA A+ certification exams. Completing the program can also earn you up to 12 college credits, the equivalent of 4 associate degree-level courses.

Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate

Seven-Module Online Course- The Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Professional Certificate, funded by Google and administered by Coursera, is a  fully online program that teaches you the skills needed for an entry-level job in digital marketing or e-commerce. You'll learn popular tools and platforms, such as Canva, Constant Contact, Hootsuite, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Shopify, Twitter, Google Ads, and Google Analytics. This certificate is endorsed by the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) and the American Advertising Federation (AAF).

Through a mix of video lectures, quizzes, and hands-on labs and widgets, you'll learn about developing digital marketing and e-commerce strategies, attracting and engaging customers through digital marketing channels like search, social media, and email, measuring marketing analytics and sharing insights, and building e-commerce stores, analyzing e-commerce performance, and growing customer loyalty.
