The Tapestry Conference is a professional development conference for teachers presented by teachers and sponsored by the Greater Victoria Teachers Association (GVTA), Cowichan Valley Teachers Union (CVTU), Saanich Teachers Association (STA), and the Sooke Teachers Association (STA).

Your session must apply to educators from all four locals and not be specific to resources or programs within your district. The application deadline is noon on Sunday, November 29, 2026. Workshop proposals will be reviewed in early December and we will inform all applicants about the status of their application.

Sessions may take the form of:

• Hands-on experiential learning. 

• Facilitated discussions and resource sharing.

• Presentations/lectures about instructional practices.

• Practitioner clinics eg. dance, music, theatre, etc.

• Other formats will be considered.

The majority of sessions will be delivered online to maximize the ability for educators from across Southern Vancouver Island to participate. 

In-person workshops may be delivered at Royal Bay Secondary or you may apply to present your workshop at an alternative location. If you are presenting at an alternative location, you are responsible for the logistics, expenses, and safety concerns associated with using that location.
