The Pro D Committee will give first priority for funding to applicants who did not receive funding in the previous school year.
Funding is limited and is not guaranteed. Please get your application in as soon as possible. We do not accept applications that are submitted after the Pro D activity has started.
All dues-paying members of the GVTA (contract teachers and TTOCs alike) are entitled to access funds from the Joint GVTA/GVSD Pro-D Fund.

Funding for January 2026 PD activities has been allocated. No additional PD funding applications for January 2026 will be approved.
Conference/Workshop/Non-credit Course Note: mileage, meals, and accommodation are not funded for Pro D activities within the BCTF Southern Zone, which is South of Duncan Vancouver Island.
Professional Book Club. All funding for 2025-26 has been allocated. No additional applications for Teacher as Researcher will be accepted. All participants must submit an application.
Teacher as Researcher. All funding for 2025-26 has been allocated. No additional applications for Teacher as Researcher will be accepted. (members can apply once every five years)
Collaborative Planning. All funding for 2025-26 has been allocated. No additional applications for Teacher as Researcher will be accepted. All participants must submit an application.
Financial Assistance is also available for Professional Development activities organized by Local Specialist Associations (LSAs) and at school sites.

All applications for professional development in July, August, and the first two weeks of September must be received in the GVTA office by June 15th.
Important: PD Funding applications submitted for Pro D activities in July and August are funded in the new school year.
