The Pro D Committee will give first priority for funding to applicants who did not receive funding in the previous school year.
Funding is limited and is not guaranteed.
All dues-paying members of the GVTA (contract teachers and TTOCs alike) are entitled to access funds from the Joint GVTA/GVSD Pro-D Fund.

Travel, breakfast, dinner, and accommodation are not funded for Pro D activities within the Capital Regional District (CRD), except for the Gulf Islands.

The GVTA has insufficient school-based grant funds to support the number of applications received for the Ministry Implementation Day. Please connect with your school administrator to request funding from your school-based Indigenous Education budget and/or administration funds.
You may also request funding from the Indigenous Education Department for the Ministry of Education Day by contacting Shelly Wilton at sniemi@sd61.bc.ca.

Financial Assistance is also available for Professional Development activities organized by Local Specialist Associations (LSAs) and at school sites.

Applications for PD activities during July, August, and the first 15 days of September are due by June 15th.
PD Funding applications submitted for Pro D activities in July and onward are funded in the new school year, July 1-June 30, and will be reviewed after the budget is passed at GVTA AGM on May 7th. You are still encouraged to submit your Pro D Funding application early to be in the queue.
