Every student at GVSMS participates in a five lesson series about bullying through his/her SOAR class. Lessons happen at the beginning of the year and include the following topics:
What is bullying?
Styles of bullying
Ways to deal with bullies
Strategies for targets
The role of the bystander
Conflict vs bullying
Reporting bullying
At Grain Valley South Middle School, there are several ways to report bullying. No matter which way you choose to report bullying, the important thing is that school officials are made aware of the problem so that something can be done about it.
One way that a student may make a report is by filling out a Google Form located in Clever on their Chromebook. Another way they can report bullying is by talking with a teacher, counselor, or principal. Finally, there is a Bullying Incident Report form listed below that can be filled out at home. This report is automatically sent to the principal, Mr. Myers.
