Focuses of a School Counselor
Academic Development
Each student learns at different paces. As a school counselor, it is important to support students and teachers in ensuring that a student is excelling their academics. Counselors provide resources and training to staff to ensure they can support students to the fullest.
College and Career Counseling
Working alongside students and staff members, I support students in their future careers by providing them resources in understanding how to complete their A-G requirements in order to achieve their future career. Wherever students plan to go, I will provide resources to support their career decisions.
Social/Emotional Development
Everybody has emotions and feelings. Supporting students in understanding their social and emotional feelings and how to cope with it will support them in their academics and engaging with their peers.
