All About Me

I was born June 18 in Fort Benning, Georgia.  My dad was in the army, so I was an army brat when I was growing up.  I have lived in Georgia, Oklahoma, Alaska, England, Kansas, Northern California, Florida, and Southern California. 

I went to college in Oklahoma and my entire family lives there, so I go back to visit during most vacations.  Unfortunately, that doesn't leave much time for any other vacation spots.

My favorite thing to do when I am not teaching is to spend time with my amazing children.  My son attended Monte Vista from K-6th grade. He has finished high school now and is working at In N Out. My daughter is 8 years old and starting 2nd grade at Monte Vista.  I feel very fortunate to be both a Monte Vista teacher and parent. We have the best school in the district!

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University (Oklahoma) in Early Childhood and Elementary Education

• Master's Degree from California State University Northridge in Educational Administration

• Supplemental Math Certificate from University of California Riverside

Teaching Experience

I have taught kindergarten, 1st grade,  4th grade,  5th grade, and 6th grade math in Glendale since 2000.  I have been teaching 5th grade at Monte Vista since 2009.
