Rising 4th Grade
Welcome to our Fourth Grade Summer Learning Site!
For students entering fourth grade in Fall 2024.
Greetings Everyone!
We hope you are well - exploring and playing and having fun this summer.
Here is a summer reading assignment from the 4th Grade Teachers, Ms. Doyle and Ms. Zaval.
Here is an additional book list from Bank Street College of Education - great selection, including some sea-worthy books from around the world! An even more updated list is here - but make sure you check for books for this age group!
MATH
We want you to keep your "math mind" sharp with regular practice. There are several math resources below, if you haven't yet found the one that works best for you, we would suggest you begin with the Review Packets that are linked to the website and labeled A- G, these sheets can be printed out at home. The IXL Review sheets are also a great resource. If you prefer to work in the IXL on-line program, that is great practice too! We will ask you turn in the math work that you have completed this summer at the start of the school year. If there are problems that you don't know how to complete, it is just fine to circle them and write, "I haven't learned this yet:)".
Here are some Review Packets (A-G) and IXL Review sheets that you should work on over the summer to keep up the skills you learned in third grade.
Students will also have access to their IXL accounts if that is a useful tool.
If you have questions about the summer work, please contact Ms. Doyle ldoyle@gus.org or Mrs. Zaval kzaval@gus.org.
Each of you are positive, helpful, kind, caring members of your classroom, GUS, and hometown communities! We are so proud of you all. We miss you and hope you will come back and visit us next year.
Fondly,
Ms. LaRoche & Mrs. deForest
