Learning is planned to ensure good progression across the subject. Long Term Planning grids show the learning that will be taking place throughout the year and demonstrate the clear learning paths that pupils will follow.
In Music, these paths are split into five main strands: Exploring Music (sound, rhythm and pulse); Exploring Music (rhythm, pace and simple notation); Pulse, Rhythm and Composition; Classical composition study; Learning and instrument; and Exploring music (pitch, symbols and tempo). This allows further development of children's skills and enjoyment within Music.
The Medium Term Planning attached below shows the breakdown of skills in each of these units and the learning objectives for each session.
