As recommended in the 2017-18 Ethical Leadership Final Report, there is now a central hub for ethical leadership centers on Guilford's campus. The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion now has a dedicated office suite in a central location on campus. Located on the 1st floor of King Hall 108 [the former Study Abroad office], Guilford's signature programs including -- the Bonner Center for Community Learning, the Center for Principled Problem Solving, the Friends Center, the Intercultural Engagement Center, and the Wiser Justice Program -- are moving in together and beginning the process of sharing the space. The five-year strategic plan integrates diversity, equity, inclusion and ethical leadership.
The co-location of these offices in King Hall 108 fosters coherence among and between Guilford’s signature programs. By co-locating these Guilford centers, we intend to promote further development and understanding of diversity and inclusion. By fostering a cooperative environment, we hope to learn and understand more about the ethical and moral choices we face when trying to address social systems that hold inequities in place. This will allow us to attract even more students who are drawn to this work and allow us to stand apart from other colleges.
