Year 2 and Year 3 science research students need to book at least one time slot in each bi-weekly period to meet course requirements. The dates of each bi-weekly period are provided below the calendar. If you feel like what you need to discuss with me will take longer than 15 minutes, book two consecutive time slots. Remember, you may only book your meeting during "free time" such as your lunch or study hall / off campus block. You may not miss another class for your meeting.
Please note that Year 1 meetings are booked separately and are in a group setting. Only Year 2 and Year 3 students should book appointments through this calendar.
These meetings comprise 50% of your grade each marking period!
You must schedule a meeting before the end of each bi-weekly period to avoid a missed meeting. There must be a full calendar week between each of your meetings.

*Bi-Weekly Period 21 is only for students who need more detailed information on their summer work and/or for those who need to catch up on meeting time due to previously missed meetings.
Remember, if you need to cancel or reschedule a meeting you must do so through Calendar. Do not email Mr. Williams to make changes for you. Remember that every student has one "freebie" each semester (not marking period) - a meeting they can miss without penalty. Once your "freebie" is used, any additional missed meetings in the same semester will receive a grade of 50.
If you are absent from school on the day of your meeting:
If you are able, cancel your appointment through Calendar.
Schedule your next meeting as normal - we will discuss both bi-weekly periods at your next meeting. (I'll be expecting to see at least 14 hours on your time log in this case.)
You will not be penalized for missing a meeting on a day you are marked absent from school, but your absence must be listed as excused. Unexcused absences will count as a missed meeting.
If you forget to schedule a meeting:
All researchers are established in either week 1 or week 2 of each bi-weekly period. You must stay within your week throughout the school year. If you usually meet with me during week 1 of each bi-weekly period, please note you cannot schedule a meeting during week 2 of that same period. That will count as a missed meeting.
Schedule your next meeting as normal. We will discuss both bi-weekly periods at our next meeting. (I'll be expecting to see at least 14 hours on your time log in this case.)
If you forget about your scheduled meeting and do not show up:
Schedule your next meeting as normal. We will discuss both bi-weekly periods at our next meeting. (I'll be expecting to see at least 14 hours on your time log in this case.)
Obviously, this counts as a missed meeting.
If you miss multiple meetings in a row:
This sometimes happens due to the school calendar. For example, you might be out sick for one of your bi-weekly meetings, and then your next bi-weekly meeting falls during a school vacation. This also applies if you are super forgetful.
We will discuss no more than two bi-weekly periods at any given meeting. At your first meeting after missing multiple meetings in a row, I will review your time log for the two bi-weekly periods that immediately followed your last meeting.
You will need to have double meetings until you are caught up.
If not affected by the school calendar or excused absences, the minimum grade of 50 will be factored in to the appropriate time periods.
