Well, this is going to be a very candid response. I think I spent about 40-45 minutes on the project Person, Place, and Things but that includes finding the podcast website, figuring out minimally how it works, figuring out how to include the sound of waves crashing, and then writing a quick plan on what I was going to say. I’d already thought a bit about the idea but I wrote the idea a bit more formally and did some quick research to make sure the info I was going to say was correct. Next time, I’m most likely going to have a more solid plan (like know what I’m going to say in the end so that I feel less awkward when ending it) and I will try to be a more confident speaker. My storytelling skills kinda sucked in this podcast because I wasn’t really sure how to make my story a story. According to Mr. Bott, my communication skills were clear and good and I do think I’m good at explaining my intentions, I just need to have a more concrete plan maybe. I think I can also be pretty engaging, I just need to craft a better story, which again requires more planning which requires more time. I will also try to give myself more time (I had time, I just didn’t know how to use it this time around) and maybe not wait until the day before the due date (or was it the due date?) to begin working on the project and then turn it in. I’m not sure if I want to keep doing podcasts for all of my future projects because that would lack originality and I’m kind of interested in vlogs although I don’t know if we can do that this year. But doing vlogs would be cool…just gotta build up the confidence though before then (i feel like I’d start them as I started the podcast by saying “hi this is my first time doing a vlog, excuse my awkwardness, and please bear with me, my voice, and appearance, and continued awkwardness throughout the vlog.” Hopefully, I won’t start it that way because I’ll have more confidence.) Anyways, break down things for next time: be more confident, spend more time on the project, plan ahead more, be a more creative/engaging storyteller, and be happy with my results.
