Most Pressing Question

September 11th, 2020

How is a country's socio-economic status related to its' impact (both negative and positive) on the planet?

In comparison to the other questions that I asked, I feel that this question gives me the ability to work with a lot of quantitative data. Some of the other questions feel like questions I should ask at the end of this investigation while others are more confrontational, which I was advised to avoid for good reasons. This question also doesn't limit me to only investigating the results of human impact on the Earth because there are so many other factors--like poverty, religious beliefs, culture, and political propaganda--that influence how large or small an individual's impact can be. When I created this question, I was specifically thinking about the USA and how one individual from the United States consumes a number of resources that is can be distributed amongst 35 Indians. I want to investigate this more but I also want to maintain more of a global perspective since this is a problem affecting all countries, not only the USA.
