I think it helped a lot that I decided almost immediately to make an infographic and was then suggested to make an audio to accompany it. If I hadn't done so, I would've spent a lot more time wondering what to make and might have lost a lot of time. However, that leads me right into a negative: I definitely missed the time deadline for this SDA. I'm not going to make any excuses, I just didn't set time aside before the due date and therefore handed it in late. I think another negative was I wasn't sure what numbers to include in the infographic. I'm still not sure whether I included the right numbers but hopefully, my audio explains my thinking and choices a bit more. One thing I'm happy with is that I do like the formatting of the infographic (I get that it might just be pretty but what's wrong with that since I also critically thought when creating it) and I planned out my audio ahead of time so it flows a lot more. Although this assignment was late, I still dedicated about two and a half to three hours to it. I think I need to work on time management in the future but also being more efficient in selecting which information is most prevalent in my question. Also, maybe I shouldn't copy a template the next time I create an infographic but at this point, I think content is more important than how it was presented because if the content isn't the correct content then there's no point to presenting it (other than learning for future presentations).
Now to make note of where I would stand on the rubric for SDAs. Having low self-confidence, I feel like I want to give myself a "Hey, I tried" in all aspects. I'll try to look at it more objectively though. I'd give myself a "I think I nailed it" for the research, evidence, and product & 5Cs. I think I have one foot in the blue and one foot in the yellow for planning because I definitely planned out things a lot more than the past SDA and talked about my idea with Mr. Bott but I did submit this quite late so if there was like a gray area between the two, I'd be there. I'm thinking similarly for my questioning skills/idea/goal but I'm in the gray area between "I think I nailed it" and "Exceeded Expectations". This is just my own perspective though.
I think I can use the information from this month in the future for further comparisons. I already made some during the loom video but I think I can make them on a deeper level in the future rather than a quick superficial comparison. I can also just make mental notes when studying other countries of how the United States might differ from that country. Honestly, the next step I see is applying the same question to a different country. However, it might be a better idea to explore a different question, and I'm not sure yet in which direction I should head. Talking it out with Mr. Bott or Mrs. Gergen does help me develop and organize my thoughts a lot so I will do so as soon as possible.
