Parenting Classes

1. The Importance of Words(March 3 & 5) 

For children, parents are their safety and their source of love. Children look to their parents for everything, including their acceptance and sense of belonging. A parent’s words are incredibly important to their children because a parent is incredibly important to a child. Words are POWERFUL and deeply impact our kids just like they do us. Words can build confidence and self-esteem, empower, inspire, and help our kids feel loved and cared for. Or, in one heated moment, they can tear them down. 

2. I can Do It Myself  (March 10 & 12)

As parents, we don’t dream about our kids being unsuccessful and unhappy. No! We want our children to be successful in all areas of their lives. We want them to find purpose and to be content. We want them to do lots of wonderful things! We hope they will be able to care for themselves and eventually, care for their own families. But, to get there, they first need to become independent. 

3.  Toddler Play (March 17 & 19)

Did your parents ever tell you that life was more than just fun and games? Well, to a toddler, life is all about fun and games. The world is their classroom, play is their textbook, and you are their first teacher and playmate. In fact, research has shown that your child learns best when they control when, where, and what they play with, and they are having fun. Best of all, from all of this fun, they build important skills that will help them for the rest of their lives. 

4. Toddler Accidents (March 24 & 26)

Take a basic first-aid and CPR class to know how to handle an emergency. Childproof your home. Make sure • Outlets have plugs in them • Cupboards have child locks on them • Tall furniture is securely strapped to the wall • Stairs and pools are secured by gates • Dangerous chemicals and medicines are stored safely out of reach 

5. Toddler Safety (March 31 & April 2)

This lesson identified areas where you will need to be most vigilant to prevent injuries while allowing a safe place for your toddler to explore and learn. The first step in safety is being prepared.

1. La Importancia de las Palabras (March 3 & 5)

Para los niños, los padres son su seguridad y su fuente de amor. Los niños buscan a sus padres para todo, incluida su aceptación y sentido de pertenencia. Las palabras de un padre son increíblemente importantes para sus hijos porque un padre es increíblemente importante para un hijo. Las palabras son PODEROSAS e impactan profundamente a nuestros niños al igual que a nosotros. Las palabras pueden generar confianza y autoestima, empoderar, inspirar y ayudar a nuestros hijos a sentirse amados y cuidados. O, en un momento acalorado, pueden derribarlos. 

2. Puedo Hacerlo Yo Solo( Marzo 10 & 12)

Como padres, no soñamos con que nuestros hijos no tengan éxito y sean infelices. ¡No! Queremos que nuestros hijos tengan éxito en todas las áreas de sus vidas. Queremos que encuentren un propósito y estén contentos. ¡Queremos que hagan muchas cosas maravillosas! Esperamos que puedan cuidarse a sí mismos y, eventualmente, cuidar a sus propias familias. Pero, para llegar allí, primero deben independizarse. 

3. Juego de niños pequeños  (Marzo 17 & 19)

¿Alguna vez sus padres le dijeron que la vida es más que solo diversión y juegos? En realidad, para un niño pequeño, la vida es todo diversión y juegos. El mundo está en su salón de clases, el juego es su libro de texto y usted es su primer maestro y compañero de juego. De hecho, distintas investigaciones revelaron que su hijo aprende mejor cuando puede controlar cuándo, dónde y con qué juega, y cuando se divierte. Lo mejor de todo es que, a partir de esta diversión, desarrolla habilidades importantes que lo ayudarán por el resto de su vida. 

 4. Accidentes en tu Pequeño (Marzo 24 & 26) 

Tome una clase básica de primeros auxilios y RCP para saber cómo manejar una emergencia. Su casa a prueba de niños. Asegúrese que: • Los tomacorrientes tengan tapones • Los armarios tengan cerraduras para niños • Los muebles altos estén bien fijos a la pared • Las escaleras y las piscinas están protegidas mediante puertas • Los productos químicos y medicamentos peligrosos se almacenan de forma segura fuera del alcance 

5. Seguridad en tu Pequeno (March 31 & April 2)

Esta lección identificó las áreas en las que deberá estar más atento para evitar lesiones y, al mismo tiempo, permitir que su niño pequeño explore y aprenda un lugar seguro. El primer paso en seguridad es estar preparado.
