World History

Our past is rich with ideals and events that have shaped the world's social, economic, and political development as well as its people. The world we live in has been so greatly impacted and influenced by the past that it offers us the perspectives necessary to make choices now that will benefit our own futures and those of future generations. World History develops a greater understanding of how geography, cultural institutions, and beliefs shape the progression of human societies. The course covers world history from 8000 BCE to the modern age. Students focus on reading for comprehension, evaluating sources of information, and writing analytical essays. Learning activities include lecture notes, seminar discussions, films, website activities, and library research.

*This class is only 1 semester! Semester grades will be posted at the end of the quarter, and final grades will be posted in December.
