This course will give students a greater understanding of economics ranging from the viewpoint of the individual consumer or small business owner to the global economy. The course will study the law of supply and demand, forms of business, government finances and influence on the economy, and money and prices. Students will appreciate how the principal concepts of economics relate to each other as well as understand the structure of economic systems. Students will use economic concepts in a reasoned and careful manner in dealing with personal, community, national, and global economic issues. They will use measurement concepts and methods such as tables, charts, graphs, ratios, percentages, and index numbers to understand and interpret relevant data.
