Karen Nylund-Lieb, Director
Karen Nylund-Lieb has a long history in theatre and film as a director, performer, dramaturg, and educator. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Film Studies and a Minor in American History, after which she moved to London for a work abroad program. She then moved to LA and worked as a producer’s assistant at Artist's Management Group and as Story Editor for Leonardo DiCaprio's production company Appian Way. She returned to school for a Masters in Theatre Arts and Directing from CSU Sacramento and worked as an Artistic Associate for Beyond the Proscenium Productions in Sacramento, CA. Her directing credits include Chicago: Teen Edition, Clue on Stage, Mamma Mia!, A Piece of my Heart, The Addams Family, Noises Off, Into The Woods, Dracula: A Comic Thriller Starring Shirley Holmes and Jennie Watson, It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Seussical, 12 Incompetent Jurors, Nine Parts of Desire, The Afghan Women, Homebody, and New Anatomies.
Mike Lieb, Technical Director
Mike Lieb is a decorated retired Navy Veteran who brings over twenty-five years of logistics, construction, and electrical experience to our theatre program as our Technical Director, Set Designer, and Props Design and Construction Lead. His technical theatre credits include: A Piece of my Heart, The Addams Family, Noises Off, Into the Woods, Dracula: A Comic Thriller starring Shirley Holmes and Jennie Watson, It's a Wonderful Life: a Live Radio Play, Seussical, Nine Parts of Desire, The Afghan Women, New Anatomies, Homebody, Dracula, West Side Story, and Guys and Dolls.Mike Lieb, Technical Director
Heather Brooks, Costume Designer
Heather has been sewing and creating clothes since the age of 6 or 7. Competing in sewing competitions throughout her youth and teen years it led her to her degree in Fashion Design from FIDM in Los Angeles. After many years of working in other industries Heather found her way back to Theater and the love of creating. Working with San Diego Junior Theater, YAT and several others she was lucky enough to be introduced to the West Hills Theater program and given the opportunity to costume for the amazing group of performers that have come through the program. Watching the children find their passion and love for the theater is so rewarding and makes every minute spent with the West Hills program worth it. Heather Brooks, Costume Designer
