Audition Rubrics and Reminders
Our Audition panels use a 4 point rubric for all of our auditions and crew decisions that assess a student’s skill level in the areas listed below. In general, students who are not cast in a production or offered a backstage crew position have scored a 2 or below in two or more categories.
Acting (all auditions)
Coachability and Teamwork (all auditions)
Vocal Music (musical auditions)
Dance (musical auditions)
Call Backs (Call Backs only)
Conflict Management (as needed)
Wolf Pack Theatre is a voluntary after school program, and participation is not attached to a grade in any of our theatre classes. While we encourage any student with a desire to be involved in the performing arts to audition or sign up to work crew, we will only take as many students as we can accommodate in the cast and backstage.
Like nearly any performing arts programs around the world, this inevitably will cause some students disappointment should they not be cast in a show the way they had hoped, or given a particular job backstage. While this can be difficult, it is also a valuable opportunity for growth in the performing arts.
All Cast and crew decisions are final and the Director will not discuss them with parents/guardians in person, over the phone, or via email.
If students have questions about casting or crew decisions, they can email the Director about what they can do differently to prepare for the next production.
