During the first semester, we are going to learn about the ELEMENTS of ART.  They are line, color, value, shape, form, texture, and space. Throughout the first semester will learn about these elements individually through art projects, note-taking, digital assignments, and bookwork. Yes, there is an art textbook! 

During the second semester, we will study the PRINCIPLES of DESIGN. They are emphasis, movement, unity, rhythm, balance, pattern, and variety. Again we will learn these principles through projects, notes, digital assignments, and reading. The goal for the student is to learn what the elements are and how they are used in conjunction with the principles to create successful pieces of art. 

A variety of materials (media) will be used in the classroom including pencil, pen, paint, and chrome books. Students will also be introduced to perspective drawing, proportions of the face, composition, and influential artists and art movements who have made an impact on the art world.
