The Director: Daisy Inez Rohner
A native San Diegan, Daisy Rohner grew up surrounded by the local music scene. Her love for music was sparked from a young age, hanging out in diapers at her Uncle's music studio and being on the set of music videos. She started playing violin in 3rd grade, switched to viola in 5th, joined drumline in high school, completed one season of colorguard, and went on to study viola, percussion, horn, oboe, and voice in college. She is a graduate of San Diego State University, having completed her bachelor's degree in music education in 2017 and earning her teaching credential in 2018. Mrs. Rohner has taught at Santana since 2018.
Colorguard Director: Alexis Anderson
Alexis's main instrument is color guard. She also plays clarinet. She graduated from Livermore HS in Livermore CA. Alexis graduated SDSU in 2012, with a BA in Interior Design, a minor in theatre arts. She has a professional certificate in meeting and event planning. She started her music experience back in elementrary, middle, and high school band. Middle and high school colorguard. Middle and high school Drum Major. Alexis was in her high school choir as well as did SDSU Marching Aztecs, Band and Guard. She also has experience with SDSU Varsity Band, SDSU Aztec Winterguard and Hesita Winterguard.
Percussion Director: Owen Hertz
Horn Coach: Joey Bartel III
Joey's main instrument is the French Horn. He also plays the trumpet. He graduated Mt. Carmel HS. Joey will graduate from SDSU in 2023, Music education. His music experience includes 17 years of band and 8 years of marching.
Percussion Coach / Ensemble Coach: Domi
Domi's main instrument is percussion. Domi also plays guitar, ukulele, bass, cello, and vocals. She graduated from Valhalla HS. In 2013, Domi graduated with a BFA from CalArts in mulit-focus percussion performance, with a minor in cell and added a year for sound design/editing in film school. Domi has played drums, guitar and bass ince she was in middle school. She was in the marching band (drumline) in high school for four years. Domi was center snare, percussion captain and band president her senior year. She also played cello for all of her HS and was Concert Master of her of the schools string orchestra. Domi studied concert percussion alon with numerous world percussion instruments while at Cal Arts, and minored in cello performance. She has performed many times around LA, but a highlight was performing at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Texas for over 4,000 percussionists! i played drums on stage for a small musical that my friend wrote, starring Josh Gad and Bryce Dallas Howard in 2010. I have been in the Kearny Mesa Concert Band for a few years and play timpani (my specialty!)I really enjoy singing and playing guitar in my free time.
Battery Coach: Chase Bentley
Chase's main instrument is drum set and quads. He also plays guitar, piano and percussion. Chase graduated from Rancho Bernardo High school. He will graduated from San Diego State University with Jazz sudies in 2025. Chase's music experience consists of 10 years with percussion, peroms in several local bands, teaches private lessons and at schools, records drums freelance, played in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Copley Hall, NRG Arena, Amway Center, Thomas and Mack Center, Snapdragon stadium, and many more....
Colorguard Coach: Christian Roads-Odierno
Christians's main instrument is a flute. She also plays Oboe, English Horn, and Tenor Sax. She graduated from Patrick Henry HS. Christian graduated from SFSU in 2012, with her Bachelors in communications. Her music experience consists starting in 6th grade through 12th grade. She was her high school Drum Major and she has been doing colorguard since 2002.
