Stem Cells

Could Stem Cells be a future cure?

What are Stem Cells?

Stem Cells are cells with the ability to become other types of cells in the body. They act as a replacement for bad cells, and are able to repair someones cells back to normal.

How could this help?

There is a theory that cells from someone with HD could be taken, fixed and then placed back into the patients brain after the mutation is corrected. It is also possible to take stem cells and have them move into areas with damaged or tripled cells and repair them that way. Scientists have been using rodents to help prove this theory, but they are no where near testing a human.
